The Stone Family Foundation is a family-led foundation that actively supports organizations to improve equity, vibrancy, and sustainability.
The Stone Family Foundation provides funds to charitable organizations which are active in either of the following fields:
Education of girls and women living in developing countries.
Volunteer hospice care and bereavement counseling.
Cultural, educational, and welfare initiatives in Santa Barbara County, CA.
The Foundation may also provide funds to other charitable organizations which are determined by the Directors to be particularly appropriate for financial assistance by the Foundation.
Grants are typically between $25,000 and $50,000.
While applications for grants may be submitted by invitation only, interested parties who work in one of the Foundation’s priority areas (listed above) may send a letter of interest to the Foundation which describes the organization and the proposed use of requested funds. Copies of brochures and other publicly distributed materials which describe the present activities of the organization may be included.
The 2024 deadline for Letters of Interest has passed. The deadline this year was July 19th. Any LOIs received after the deadline can be considered for 2025.
An applicant must be a publicly supported tax exempt organization recognized as such by the Internal Revenue Service under I.R.C. Section 501(c)(3).
